EGYPT-MERCOSUR Free Trade Agreement South american countries and Egypt allied for free trade WHO and WHEN: ARGENTINA, BRAZIL, URUGUAY, PARAGUAY, CHILE, BOLIVIA, ECUADOR COLOMBIA, PERÙ and VENEZUELA (Mercosur) signed with EGYPT an Agreement entered in to force in 09/2017 WHAT: The agreement provides preferential privileges for Egyptian exports to enter Latin American markets by : -Cutting tariffs by more than 90% and cancelling customs duties on agricultural goods The FTA also aims to reduce the cost of imports from Latin American markets such as: -Soy oil -Mea -Sugar The most important exports are : -Chemicals -Engineering goods -Textiles
